Are You Looking for a Reliable Restoration That Looks Completely Natural?

At Summit Point Dental Implant Center in McKinney, we are dedicated to providing superior dentistry and personalized care. We may recommend a dental crown to restore the shape, size, and function of a tooth damaged by severe decay or trauma. A crown may also be recommended to replace a missing tooth or hold up a bridge. Among the benefits a crown provides:

In cases of severe decay, fillings can't offer the level of protection provided by a dental crown. A crown does double duty by totally enclosing the tooth to protect it from bacteria and by making it stronger at the same time.

Dr. Sasan Khodabakhsh at Summit Point Dental primarily uses zirconia for his restorations. Zirconia, which is 10 times stronger than tooth enamel, has superior strength and durability, as well as excellent aesthetics.

Natural Looking

Our practice uses advanced 3-D scanning and a variety of restoration materials, such as zirconia and porcelain, to create dental crowns that are natural-looking in both color and shape.

Don't Wait Too Long ...

If you've been advised that you need a dental crown, we recommend prompt action. A tooth that has been weakened by decay or trauma is susceptible to even more damage, which could lead to an extraction and the additional costs associated with replacing a tooth.

We offer same-day appointments at Summit Point Dental Implant Center in McKinney, TX.

In addition to treating problems like decay or trauma, dental crowns are also ideal for replacing missing teeth and concealing numerous cosmetic concerns.

Are You Looking to Replace
a Missing Tooth?

Implant-supported crowns are today's preferred method to replace missing teeth. This is because implants are the only solution that also halts the deterioration of the jawbone that occurs when teeth are lost.

Dr. Khodabakhsh at Summit Point Dental Implant Center in McKinney has advanced training in dental implants and uses high-end implant materials with a proven track record of patient satisfaction for optimum results.

Our Commitment to You

Your care and comfort are our guideposts. Our goal is to provide the highest level of care and improved oral health so you reap the benefits for years to come.

Same-Day & Traditional Dental Crowns The Treatment Timeline

We make treatment convenient and stress-free at Summit Point Dental Implant Center in McKinney. In most cases, we can design and create your dental crown in one visit. However, depending on the material you choose, your crown may require two visits. During your consultation, Dr. Khodabakhsh will provide an exam and discuss the options that will be suitable, such as porcelain or zirconia, based on the tooth and its location.
We use advanced technology and offer multiple sedation options to fulfill our promise of superior comfort for each and every patient.

The tooth will be treated to remove decay and infection. If decay has reached the interior of your tooth, a root canal will be needed to remove bacteria inside the tooth. Your tooth will then be shaped to make room for the crown.

Creating the Impression

Using our advanced 3-D technology, the next step is to take a digital impression of your mouth so we can design your custom-fit restoration. Patients overwhelmingly prefer our digital scans to goopy impression material, which is unpleasant if you have a sensitive gag reflex. Digital scans are also more accurate.

If we are creating a same-day dental crown, we will mill it in our office while you wait. If you are getting a traditional crown, you will need to wait about two weeks while we have the restoration created in an offsite lab. To protect your tooth until then, we will create a temporary crown for you to wear until your next appointment.

Once your dental crown has been fabricated, our dentist will test the fit and make any adjustments that are necessary to ensure it sits comfortably in your mouth. Once both of you are satisfied with the fit and aesthetics, Dr. Khodabakhsh will secure your restoration in place.

We Use High-Quality Restoration Materials For Durable, Beautiful Dental Crowns

Selecting a restoration material that offers the right balance of durability and beauty is an art. Dr. Khodabakhsh is skilled in designing restorations made from a variety of materials, including porcelain and porcelain that has been fused to metal. However, like many dentists skilled in using advanced techniques, he favors zirconia for its beauty and strength

Because each restoration material has its own pros and cons, Dr. Khodabakhsh will carefully weigh all the factors when selecting your restoration material to ensure it has the right balance of function and beauty. Factors he will consider include the location of the restoration and whether you grind your teeth.
